Have you ever wanted to see the stars up close? Have you ever wanted to feel weightless? If you answered yes to those question, then you might be interested in a job as a astronaut, However the job of being an astronaut is very hard. Not only being an astronaut hard on their body, but they need to train a lot before going into space, and they have difficult jobs to do while they are in space.

First, being in space is hard on the astronaut’s body. According to source #2, “ Astronaut’s other muscles their bones can also get weaker.” On earth, we run around and exercise with gravity, which helps our muscles and bones grow strong. I space, there is no gravity , so astronaut have to work to exercise extra hard to keep their muscles and bones strong. If you see astronaut headed to space with a treadmill, now you know why.

Next, in source #1, astronaut study space to understand what it is like to prepare. There are many jobs that astronaut’s do like Pilots-fly and steer space ship and learn to make ship go faster or slower and to guide the ship, Leaders in charge-makes sure that everyone is doing the right job, Scientist-study and learn how thing work and change in space. Astronaut’s must learn medical skills.

Finally, in source #1, some astronauts have to train for hundreds of hours learning stuff they would do in space. Like some have to space to understand space. Some also have to take lessons in scuba diving because it is semler to the feeling of fluting in space. And they have to learn to eat, drink and other stuff while fluting. And work with no gratuity.

Astronaut’s do not have it easy. As you have read, just going into space can harm astronaut body. Even befor astronaut go into space, they have to train hours to prepare. Once astronaut are in space they have difficult jobs to do. So next time you look up at the the stars and see a satellite drifting through the sky, remember all the hard work astronaut’s did to make that happen.

  1. Dear Mia,
We had such a great time learning about astronauts and to write an organized paper together. I really like your #3 and #4 paragraphs that you wrote by yourself using your notes. Fantastic work Mia. What was your favorite part about this assignment?

    Happy researching,
    Mrs. Fordyce

  2. Dear Mia,
WOW!!! I learned a lot from your post. Astronauts must work hard, and train a lot. I don’t think I want to be one. What about you?
    From your friend,
    Simone
